Introductory Note by the President of ESEE George Karanikas
It is with great pleasure and satisfaction that we present the Annual Hellenic Commerce Report for 2020. This is a special milestone for the Institute of Commerce and Services of the Hellenic Confederation of Commerce and Entrepreneurship (INEMY-ESEE), as it is the twentieth anniversary of the first publication of the Annual Report. In a long period of time with great changes and many developments, the research arm of ESEE was developed and matured, which in 2007 took the form of the Institute of Trade and Services. The research upgrade of our organization was an important project that we successfully completed, and the high level of accuracy of the Annual Report proves that. The publication and the presentation of the Annual Hellenic Commerce Report was a flagship event for ESEE every year, as it created a space for discussion on the facts and figures in the retail sector and the economy as well. The findings of the Report used to be useful for the social partners, the government, the political parties, the academia, the media and the counterpart organizations in Europe. In this context, I believe that the publication of the Annual Report has added value to ESEE as a social partner.
